MOVIE NEWS: The World’s End Commences Production

 

Working Title Films and Big Talk Productions have commenced filming on The World’s End, the third installment of Edgar Wright’s trilogy of comedies, following the successes Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007). The new movie is filming in the U.K. As with the first two movies in the trilogy, Universal Pictures International (UPI) will distribute The World’s End internationally and Focus Features will distribute it in North America.

If throwing caution to the wind and developing a few basic ideas for an inexpensive alien invasion comedy produces a film as entertaining as Attack the Block in the UK, it might be time for Hollywood to reach out to the Brits for some creative stimulus and perhaps even some financial advice.

The comedic duo of Simon Pigg & Nick Frost are back with the new upcoming comedy, Paul.  Directed by Greg Mottola, who also helmed Adventureland and Superbad, the comedy follows two friends who encounter an unexpected visitor outside of Area 51.  In addition, to Pegg and Frost, the film features an impressive cast that includes Seth Rogen, Jason Batemen, Sigourney Weaver, and Jane Lynch, just to name a few.  You can check out the latest trailer below.
