For thrity-one years, we honored the craptacular moviesthe night before the Oscars. This year was cruel to M. Night Shyamalan whose disastrous children’s film, The Last Airbender, picked up five razzies including Worst Picture, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3D, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay & Worst Supporting Actor for Twilight alum Jackson Rathbone.

Good afternoon TRR Readers,
We said goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011. What awaits us this year? Some great movies into DVDs? Movies that will blow our minds? TV shows that will take us on the journey? Who knows…All I know is that TRR is getting ready for its change in the upcoming weeks. Until the change comes, the thing that will never change is our weekly DVD picks. Would some dinner served with catfish with the help of Machete with no split pea soup on the side? I hope you caught the hint with the first 2011′s…..

2009 has been an amazing year not only for myself but for the entire team. In one year’s time, TRR has grown from a lone man to a strong solid team of writers and reporters bringing you the very best in entertainment. We have brought the world of theatre, comedy shows, and concerts unlike ever before. In addition, we have the pleasure of interviewing many of your favorite celebrities such as Margaret Cho and John Cena, to local filmmakers such as Lonnie Martin and Seth Blaustein. Finally, we have been your eyes to such wonderful events including Cirque Du Soleil’s Ovo, Marc Anthony, and my personal favorite – Lillith Fair.

Machete, Rodriguez’s first (with the promise of two sequels!) official foray into the sub-genre “Mexploitation” arrives at a politically relevant time as Arizona’s immigration climate is splashed all over the news. Still, the overall tongue-in-cheek tone of the film suggests coincidence, as Machete is the first of several faux trailers from 2007’s Grindhouse to be made into a feature-length. Reportedly, Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving is on the way.
