Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the July 20 release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” will have an opportunity to get a firsthand look at the Tumbler and the Bat-Pod, which are rolling out on a coast-to-coast tour, sponsored by Mountain Dew and IMAX. Both the Tumbler and the Bat-Pod have served as high-powered modes of transportation for Batman in Christopher Nolan’s earlier blockbusters—with the Tumbler first appearing in “Batman Begins,” and the Bat-Pod being introduced in “The Dark Knight.” They will both be featured in different ways in the hugely anticipated finale to the director’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises.”

In his follow-up effort to the highest grossing R-rated comedy in American history, director Todd Phillips proves that it is somehow possible to be lazy and overzealous at the same time. The Hangover, which grossed over $467 million worldwide in 2009, succeeded almost as much on a critical level as it did at the box office, claiming its place as one of the decades funniest films. These days though, the Boston neighborhood (a single square mile of land), apparently has another more infamous distinction, a distinction which Mr. Affleck, a Boston native himself, uses as the subject of his new film, The Town. Directed by Ben Affleck, the story follows a team of robbers in Charlestown whose heists get threatened by the ensuing relationship between the team’s leader and a hostage (from one of the team’s heist).

Hello TRR Readers,
Its the moment you all been waiting for. After 365 days, countless visits to the DC Metro area’s finest movie theatres, and viewing countless films without breaking a sweat; it’s time to declare the THE ROGERS REVUE TOP FILMS OF 2009!
2009 has been an amazing journey for me both in real life and being a film critic. Last year, I have seen some of the amazing performances brought before me on the big screen. From the tearjerkers to the flights of fantasy, I have witnessed so many adventures to truly appreciate the cinematic art form. I am surprised that after seeing over one hundred films, my mind has not turned to mush or that I quote movies on a daily basis by now. This year’s top film list is my very first as a online critic. I have to admit that I was surprised at my selections because it was quite a challenge to choose the best of the best. And now, ladies and gentleman….
