If you were a child of the 1980′s (like me), you grew listening to the funkadelic sounds of the late Rick James. One of his timeless classic slow jams was Fire and Desire on his 1981 Street Songs album. This powerful soulful ballad introduced us the mighty vocals of R&B singer Teena Marie. It’s this song that defined an era of early 80′s soulful ballads. Today, a great souful voice is silenced. Grammy nominated singer–songwriter–producer Teena Marie has passed away Sunday Night. The cause of her death is unknown at this time. She was 54 years old.
