Philip Seymour Hoffman joins Catching Fire cast

MOVIE REVUE – Leave it to Mel Gibson in The Beaver

I must admit, though I prefer heading into movies with only the freshest of perspectives, the little I read about Jodie Foster’s latest directorial effort dashed my hopes a bit. The opinions I allowed to taint my palate weren’t horrid, but the consensus was that while Mel excelled, it did little to elevate the script, direction and overall quality of the film. Well they could not have been more wrong. This is not a return to form for Gibson, his skill and talent never left; rather a return to seeing him after being absent to sort out issues in his personal life.

Good Evening everyone,

The Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) has presented the best of 2010 performances and films all for its 9th annual awards. I am truly blessed to be part of an elite group for my second. I mean can you imagine sharing your love of movies with the people whose job to let you, the readers, know whether the movie is worth the $10-$14 at the theatre.
