We all watch the news and see countless stories on murders, attacks, and robberies and as a result there are many that live with the fear that it could happen to them. What we seldom read about is that it’s more of a rarity that people actually have the intelligence to commit such crimes. There’s plenty of stories of would be thieves going into a convenience store to steal cigarettes and beer. As they approach the cashier and demand the items the cashier says “I can’t give that to you”. Befuddled, the thieves ask “why?” The cashier responds, “Because I don’t believe you’re old enough to have them”. And so to prove that they are in fact of legal age, the thieves show their ID to the cashier who confirms their age and off they go with their items. Of course, the thieves seem to have inadvertently overlooked that now their identities are known and are arrested only hours later. Four Lions tells the story of such would be Jihadists in London.
