Warning, some heavies have breached the safe house this weekend. My expectations are lowered along with the security features.
20th Century Fox presents Unstoppable, an action movie inspired by actual events. This story takes place in Pennsylvania, and is about a train that is out of control and needs to be… well stopped. Director Tony Scott keeps movie-goers on the edge of their seats with the simple dialogue, yet dramatic events that unfold along the journey of this film. Denzel Washington plays Frank, the experienced conductor, while Star Trek’s Chris Pine is Will, his agitating engineering understudy. They work together to stop the train, which is carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals, before it derails and blows up a heavy populated town.
Hollywood is known for taking a certain amount of liberty when it comes to making movies based on true stories. Unstoppable, directed by veteran action director Tony Scott, is a perfect example of this. The film is loosely based on the 2001 “Crazy Eights” unmanned train incident in Ohio, in which a train went on a 66-mile trek through Ohio with no one at the controls. This movie changes the setting to Pennsylvania where our characters must race to save the day and above all odds, stop a runaway train.
