If you ride like lightning, you’re gonna crash like thunder.
-Robin Van Der Zee
Make no mistake, the trailers for ‘Pines’ are wholly misleading. That said I was still able to adjust on the fly, as the film takes a few thematically jarring turns in the second half. Ryan Gosling plays nomadic carnie/motorcycle stuntman Luke Glanton who attempts to rekindle a romance with Romina (Eva Mendes) after discovering that their one night stand produced an infant son, despite her involvement with Kofi (Mahershala Ali), who we learn is a much more stable partner and father. With little opportunity and the guidance of former bank robber Robin Van Der Zee (Ben Mendelsohn), Glanton turns to bank robbery, a small subplot which takes far too much of the film’s running time.

By now, most reviews of this film have gone so far in trashing this sequel as being a complete carbon copy of the original, lacking its predecessor’s innovation. I wasn’t ultra-keen on the first one like everybody and their mother was two years ago, but I didn’t hate it. It just wasn’t the second coming of all-time comedies. Then again, comedy is a tough genre to pull off walking the fine line between generating laughs and keeping the story from derailing.

In his follow-up effort to the highest grossing R-rated comedy in American history, director Todd Phillips proves that it is somehow possible to be lazy and overzealous at the same time. The Hangover, which grossed over $467 million worldwide in 2009, succeeded almost as much on a critical level as it did at the box office, claiming its place as one of the decades funniest films. Phillips also co-wrote this time, along with Craig Mazin and Scot Armstrong.

If someone has ever suggested that life is “mind over matter,” then that same person would probably like Limitless.

A new trailer for the movie Limitless starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro has surfaced online. It’s an action-thriller about a writer who takes an experimental drug that makes it so he uses a full 100% of his brain and not the typical 20% that most of us do.

The Hangover Unrated (2-Disc Digital Copy Edition)
Good Afternoon Readers,
I am back for another edition of the Rogers Revue DVD Revue. This time, we are going back to the summer 2009 where one comedy ruled the box office. Four guys took the ultimate trip to Las Vegas for the vacation they’ll never forget. Unfortunately, the next day they can’t remember what they did. Their exclusive hotel suite was trashed beyond recognition. A Bengal tiger is locked in the bathroom. A baby found in the closet. Worse of all, the groom Doug is missing. Phil, Stu, and Alan must now embark on a quest to find out what happened to Doug and what did they do the night before. The Hangover was the COMEDY MOVIE of 2009 and the debauchery continues with their DVD Release. For this DVD Revue, I will breakdown the walls of the unrated 2-disc digital copy special edition of The Hangover!

If you’re familiar with the phrase, “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas?”, then this movie is right for you. Imagine that you are on the eve of getting married and your best friends treat you to a weekend in Sin City. You & your friends decided to get a suite at one of Vegas’s famous casinos. Then, you do a toast to celebrate your last night as a bachelor. Then the next morning, everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong. The hotel room is trashed beyond recognition. You’re sleeping on the floor. One of your friends is missing a tooth. A baby is in the closet. Finally, you found a Bengal tiger in your bathroom.
