DVD RELEASES: March 29-30th

March 30, 2010

 Good afternoon Readers,

When March comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb. The old English proverb could not be more perfect. Within the last few weeks, my area has been hit with Snow, Rain, and Sunny weather. The same thing could be said about this month’s DVD releases. We had some hits and misses along the way. Nonetheless, we got some good clean fun entertainment coming at you!

For the final days of March, this week’s movie picks will follow an international version of “Idol”, a coming-of-age drama set in 1960′s London, a steampunk twist of an literary detective, and a trip to the oceans in the third dimension.

Hello TRR Readers,

Its the moment you all been waiting for.  After 365 days, countless visits to the DC Metro area’s finest movie theatres, and viewing countless films without breaking a sweat; it’s time to declare the THE ROGERS REVUE TOP FILMS OF 2009!

This year’s top film list is my very first as a online critic. I have to admit that I was surprised at my selections because it was quite a challenge to choose the best of the best. And now, ladies and gentleman….

TRR EXCLUSIVE: The 2009 WAFCA Award Winners

December 7, 2009

Good morning everyone:

One of the things that has changed my life this year was the moment I became the 48th member of the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association. The Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) was founded in 2002 and is comprised of DC-based film critics from television, radio, print and the internet. As of right now, they have 48 members. Notable critics and my fellow friends in WAFCA include “BDK” of WJFK 106.7 FM, Nell “The Movie Mom” Minow, and Arch Campbell – Legendary Film Critic of WJLA ABC 7. I am truly blessed to be part of an elite group. I mean can you imagine sharing your love of movies with the people whose sole job is to inform you if the movie is good or not. I was honored that the members of WAFCA welcomed me with open arms to their organization.
