It’s been well over twenty years since I first heard EWF (Earth Wind and Fire). I was about five years old, “Shining Star” came on the radio and I have been a fan ever since. Last night at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap EWF didn’t just take the stage, they set it ablaze. They played all their hits in front of a sold out audience, just over 7,000 people strong.

On November 14, 2013, the Newseum, in partnership with Paramount Pictures, will open “Anchorman: The Exhibit,” featuring props, costumes and footage from the 2004 hit comedy “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” prior to the release of its highly anticipated sequel “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” from Paramount Pictures on December 20.

NPO’s Astonishing Wagner Celebration

Saturday night at The Music Center at Strathmore it’s Wagner’s 200th Anniversary Celebration! It featured the works of Richard Wagner, a 19th century German composer best known for his epic operas. Even though the program featured pieces originally written as an opera the concerto was all instrumental. The National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Piotr Gajewski has the task of performing some of Wagner’s most complex compositions.
