I remember in the mid to late 90’s there was a resurgence of metal music. Alternative music slightly tapered off and all sorts of various hip hop influenced metal bands started emerging. Bands like Korn, Deftones, Slipknot, Rage Against the Machine and Limp Bizkit. You can almost say that it all started with Slayer back in the 80’s, they were signed to Def Jam Records after all. Korn in my opinion was one, if not thee most significant band from the nu-metal era. When I heard they would be playing at The Filmore in Silver Spring I did a double take; what?!

Helen Hayes Award winner and former Arena Stage Associate Artistic Director Kyle Donnelly returns to direct the D.C.-area premiere of the show with a cast that features Tony Award nominee and two-time Helen Hayes Award winner Helen Carey as matriarch Polly Wyeth and two-time Tony Award nominee Larry Bryggman as patriarch Lyman Wyeth. Rounding out the cast are Emily Donahoe  as daughter Brooke Wyeth, Scott Drummond as son Trip Wyeth and Martha Hackett  as their aunt Silda Grauman. Other Desert Cities runs April 26-May 26, 2013 in the Fichandler Stage.
