RETRO REVUE – Transformers: The Movie (1986)

 

It has come to my attention that there’s a Transformers movie out in theaters. Nonsense! The only Transformers movie ever was back in 1986, aptly titled Transformers: The Movie. I mean, come on; a live-action motion picture of transforming robots? I believe comic book live action, sure, but that had (somewhat) elements of reality…by that I mean, human driven. The Transformers storylines are almost entirely all about the robots, and a good vs. evil ideology that beats you over the head.

PERSONAL LOG 10 APRIL 1999 DAY SEVEN

This was to be my final day at Advanced Space Academy. I will truly, madly, & deeply miss all the people who made this challenge, one that I have completed. The late departure trainees went to eat some breakfast. When I arrived at the cafeteria, I saw two familiar faces that I have seen before. Then, it hit me like lightning. It was Tammy Gurevich & Jennifer Rybicki! Two best friends from my team, the Von Braun Team. They had to stay overnight because their bus had broke down. So, I went to their table & talked to them about our week at Advanced Space Academy. Tammy told me that she had a wonderful week and that she will miss the team including me.

PERSONAL LOG 08 APRIL 1999 DAY FIVE

It is the fifth day at Advanced Space Academy and I am feeling great. We started this day at the infamous “AREA 51”. We completed three more teamwork exercises. The first mission was to take radioactive material and put it in the bucket but there was a catch. We couldn’t use our hands to touch the balls. We had to use two ropes to accomplish this task and there was a circle separating the bucket, we couldn’t cross it. The Helix Team (Von Braun Mission Specialist Team) completed this task by using the two ropes as a rope bridge to lower the material into the bucket. By the way, this event was lead by my fellow Delta Flyer, Allison Stewart.

PERSONAL LOG 06 APRIL 1999 DAY THREE

As the days go by at Advanced Space Academy, a new day keeps getting better than the last. Today is what I would call a “Track Day” which means that each of the mission tracks (Pilots, Mission Specialists, & Payload Specialists) group up together to work on the field. The assignment for the Mission Specialists was Engineering Applications & Payload Operations at the classroom. Our mission was to create a safety device for a very delicate cargo. This cargo was to land on a planet safely. We created a box to support our very delicate cargo, which was an egg. Then, we took the box to Space Habitat 1 and dropped it from the third floor. Mission Specialist Kristen Tebo did the honors by dropping our cargo o the planet surface. Unfortunately, the cargo was destroyed when it landed.

Over a decade, I wrote what is my masterpiece to date. Now I want to bring it to my readers to see how I captured a one week excursion into my greatest work. For the 2nd Retro Revue, this is my Space Adventure.

Have you ever wondered what its like to experience an amazing trip where you can live out your wildest dreams? Have you ever imagined what its like “to boldly go where no one has gone before?” Have you ever known what its like what it takes to become an astronaut? Well, you are in luck! I had the pleasure to do all three in a very special week in April of 1999.

RETRO REVUE: The Damnation of Temptation

This revue is known as a Retro Revue. My Retro Revue are articles I have written that were never published or published on other venues until now. The first Retro Revue is about a gameshow that I hold near and dear but the second incarnation destroyed all hopes in one season. I now present to you – THE DAMNATION OF TEMPTATION.

 

Today, I am focusing my thoughts on the TV Series “Temptation: the New Sale of the Century”. For those of you who do not know what Temptation is, I would be happy to explain.
