INTERVUE: Craig Robinson & Tina Gordon Chism

On this edition of INTERVUE, I had the honor of interviewing comedian Craig Robinson who is making the transition to “Leading Man” and writer/director Tina Gordon Chism who is making her directorial debut. The movie that share these special firsts is the upcoming movie “Tyler Perry Presents Peeples” – coming to theatres this Friday May 10th. Peeples centers around a well-off East Coast family celebrating a reunion weekend in the Hamptons. However, their reunion is interrupted when their daughter Grace’s (Kerry Washington) fiance Wade Walker (Craig Robinson) crashes in to FINALLY Meet the Peeples.

INTERVUE: Coach Bill Courtney

 

Never before then a true story of one man making a difference was captured on film beautifully than the 2012 Oscar-winning documentary, “Undefeated.” This documentary followed the life of Coach Bill Courtney as he leads the mighty Tigers of Manassas High of Memphis, Tennessee. INTERVUE: Joe Wright

In the late 19th Century, Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy brought us the  tragedy of a married socialite and her torrid affair with the affluent Count Vronsky. Over the years, it has been adapted to film and featured the talents of Vivian Leigh, Greta Garbo & Tatyana Samojlova playing the title role. This time, Keira Knightley fills the shoes as she collaborates with director Joe Wright with the latest adaptation of Anna Karenina.  TRR reporter Dean Rogers had the opportunity to interview director Joe Wright to find out what it took to big the classic Tolstoy novel to the big screen.

INTERVUE: Ben Lewin & John Hawkes

Mark O’Brien was a journalist and poet who had polio since his childhood. O’Brien used an iron lung for much of his life to help him breathe.At the tender age of 38, O’Brien decided to do this unthinkable, he hired a sex surrogate to help him experience sex for the very first time. His journey is chronicled in the upcoming movie, The Sessions. TRR reporter Dean Rogers had the opportunity to interview director Ben Lewin and actor John Hawkes to get their insights of this extraordinary film.

I have done just that when I was a senior in high school.  In 1999, author Stephen Chbosky created such a great book called “The Perks of a Being a Wallflower.” Thirteen years later, Chbosky has brought the book to the big screen – this time, as director. The new film tells the tale of a An introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world. This movie stars Logan Lerman, Emma Watson & Ezra Miller. Our roving reviewer, Dean Rogers, joined in a roundtable discussion with John Hanlon (John Hanlon Reviews) & Lauren Veneziani (DC Film Girl) to talk to Mr. Chbosky about this dynamic film.

INTERVUE: Michael Peña

 

Michael Peña is one of those actors who is a movie-lover at heart.

When talking to him about his latest film, End of Watch (which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, America Ferrera and Anna Kendrick), Peña pulls you into the conversation with references to his favorite films, his ideal leading ladies (which might surprise you, BTW. So read on to find out below), and talk about character-driven action movies versus those focused on special effects.
