Dubstep has officially landed in the U.S. from the U.K. and I wouldn’t exactly call it Beatlemania but there is a resonance protruding from these speakers that’s hard to pass up. Rusko headlining at Rams Head Live is even harder to pass up. So grab your best dancing sneakers and let’s go party.

After crossing Georgia Avenue and walking closer to The Fillmore, I could already tell that the Marilyn Manson concert was sold out just by seeing the MASSIVE crowd fighting their way to the front doors, like Marisa V. from Virginia who had waited patiently for 8 hours amongst many others to make certain that they would get front row center stage to witness and be part of all the madness.

After a somewhat rainy weekend, what better way to start off the than to hear some good bands? I must admit this was my first time hearing Candlebox, but I was not disappointed with the show. Before I share my review Candlebox’s portion of the show, I’d like to talk about the opening acts.

It’s opening day at Pier Six Pavilion. How better to hype opening day than to feature Mac Miller a proverbial fire ball of enthusiasm. The stage is set, the audience is in attendance at full force, time for the Macadelic Tour, and what more can you ask for.

The Strathmore is the appropriate venue to capture the ever so pervasive grand enchantment of Joshua Bell not L’Enfant Plaza metro (the acoustics are a lot better). Joshua Bell takes the leader’s chair in Academy of St. Martins in the Fields, a renowned ensemble of London’s leading musicians. Being Joshua Bell is one of the most extraordinary violinists of our time this event has the makings of a masterpiece.

A perfect evening a perfect setting and Video Games Live, now that’s a high score. Walking down the elevated pedestrian walkway I approached the entrance of the Strathmore. I was generously greeted by there top notch staff and was taken by the neatness and architecture that surrounded me. I was preparing to witness Video Games Live, a symphonic rendering of classic video game music, and boy was I in for a treat.

What did you do over the weekend? Play some pranks? Say goodbye to the last of the cherry blossom petals? Well I, along with a few hundred other lucky ducks, was treated to almost two hours of a living legend at the Strathmore in Bethesda. The fabulous outfits, those amazing hairstyles, and that unmistakable voice have ruled graciously for 50 years, and now I know exactly why. Patti LaBelle is magnificent on every level.

Ah, the 9:30 club. That good ole familiar hot spot nestled on the corner of V Street and Florida Avenue. A place where on any given night the line can stretch down the block and have SOLD OUT signs posted on every ticket window. There recently has been a slew of talented Dubstep artist making their way through the 9:30 club and tonight was no exception. Nero was about to blow the place up and everybody there knew it, you could tell by the anticipation in the atmosphere.

David Lee Roth is fronting Van Halen once more.
What do you get when you combine a powerhouse rock from the 1970′s and 1980′s with the hippest R&B sounds of the 1970′s and 1980′s. You got David Lee Roth leading his legendary band Van Halen and opening act Kool & the Gang at the Verizon Center last night. Check out the pics

Walking down Fenton Street from the direction of the Wayne Avenue parking garage (which by the way is free on Saturday nights) in the heart of downtown Silver Spring I really didn’t really know what to expect. Being this is my first time attending the newly renovated Fillmore my expectations were high. When I reached Colesville Road and saw the brightly lit marquee dawning the name Fillmore in large round bulbs my expectations were partially met and a burst of energy overcame my entire body.
