For almost two decades, the college basketball season in the nation’s capital has hit its stride with the annual BB&T Classic at Verizon Center, home of the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics and a variety of concerts and family shows. The 2012 line-up has been announced and will showcase long-time host universities, the University of Maryland and George Washington University, plus CAA power George Mason and Manhattan College of the MAAC. The doubleheader will be played on Sunday, Dec. 2, and will benefit the Children’s Charities Foundation (CCF). MASN and FOX Sports Media Group’s owned and affiliated Regional Sports Networks will televise both games.
