America’s Favorite Quiz Show To Hold Online Test For U.S. Service Men And Women
America’s Favorite Quiz Show is seeking out the best of the best in the U.S. Armed Forces for an all-new “Salute to the Military.” The first step in the audition process is for all full-time, active duty service members to register for and participate in a nationwide online test being held at www.jeopardy.com on Tuesday, October 9, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
“We want to recognize and pay tribute to the courage and dedication of our country’s men and women in uniform,” said Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek, a long-time USO supporter. “They continue to serve our country with dignity and nobility under challenging conditions. We’re going to give them a chance to showcase their knowledge during our ‘Salute to the Military’ week, a competition dedicated exclusively to them.”
Trebek also plans to travel abroad in October to visit military bases where he will greet our troops and assist with the in-person auditions being held on bases worldwide. Since 1987, Trebek has participated in 12 USO tours.
Registration for the online test is now open. Applicants must register prior to taking the online test. For registration and information, as well as test tutorials and eligibility rules, all participating U.S. service men and women should go to www.jeopardy.com.
The online test is the first step to becoming a Jeopardy! contestant. A select group who passes the test will be invited to in-person auditions held in late 2012 and early 2013.
